New Delhi: The Unique Identification Authority of India has temporarily stopped a crucial feature which permits you to alter the address of your Aadhaar card's address, without certificate of address.
UIDAI permits people with Aadhaar cards to change their address, without the need for documentation. Aadhaar card holders are able to update their address if they are willing to accept the authentication from the address verification. A verifier of address could be a friend, relative or landlord who will allow the Aadhaar card owner to utilize their address as proof.
UIDAI has now stopped this facility. UIDAI responded to an Aadhaar Card Holder by tweeting that the capability to change the address on the Aadhaar Card through the Address Validation Letter was canceled. UIDAI has requested an Aadhaar Issuers to inform users that they can update their address with another genuine PoA document.
Dear Resident Attention: The Address Validation Letter service has been suspended until the end of time. Kindly request your address update using another valid PoA document from the list https://t.co/BeqUA0pkqL
